The Taurus Vibe : No Bull!

Fun Factory is one of my favorite toy brands. I particularly love their rechargeable vibrators like Chester Cheeky and Benjamin Bond, but I adore their battery operated ones like the LayaSpot as well. The Astrovibes line looked interesting when I first saw it – different vibrators designed for each of the astrological signs? Could be fun! I’m not huge into astrology, but I do know the names of the signs. I couldn’t decide on which to get, but since my husband’s a Taurus (well, honestly, also because it’s orange), I figured this would be a fun one to review from EdenFantasys.
The Taurus (which is a Fun Factory Generation 1 toy) comes in a blue box, visible through the front window. The back is closed by magnets, and contains product information on each of the three grey panels, including care and cleaning Inside the package are the Taurus, instruction booklet, and sample of Toyfluid lubricant.

This really is a cute vibrator. Have I said it’s orange? It’s a glorious color for sex toys, and really makes this one appealing. The shape is standard, with the Taurus standing about 7 1/2" high. It’s insertable up to 6 1/2" with a maximum diameter of 1 1/2". The silicone is soft, and just a bit squishy, but while it has drag to the surface it’s not at all tacky. The top portion is flexible, while the rest of the shaft is rigid and you can feel the vibrator inside.

Being named Taurus implies this looks like a bull, and indeed it does in a stylistic way. The tip of the vibrator is the blunt nose of the bull, and two bulges swing down to form the definition between the cheeks and the rest of the head. These swirls join in a V on the bottom side, and looking at the Taurus this way, it resembles a circumsized penis. Two longer swirls fun down from the nose on the top and separate and join to form the bull’s horns. These swirls and ridges provide some interesting texture, although it’s by no means overwhelming during use.

Being a Generation 1, the Taurus has a simple, “old-school” style battery compartment, black with a bottom red dial. The cap takes a 1/4 counter clockwise turn to remove and access the battery compartment. The Taurus takes 2 AA batteries, one facing up and the other facing down.

The red dial on the bottom is easy to turn (somewhat too easy), and dials this Bull from low to high vibrations. Because of the size and location of the vibrator inside, on low the Taurus vibrates most strongly in the middle of the shaft. When turned to high, the vibrations transmit nicely into the head and nose. They are moderate to highly strong and a bit throbby, though mostly buzzy. They are also a bit on the loud side. Not so loud that you’d think your partner was using a chainsaw in the bedroom – some background sound like a TV or radio, or a low fan, would adequately mask the sound the Taurus makes.

The Taurus is phthalates-free and non porous, and is easy to clean with mild soap and warm water, but do take care not to get water too close to the base as it isn’t a waterproof vibe. If the base needs cleaning, wiping it with a wet cloth should do the trick. Since the Taurus is silicone, only water-based lubricants are safe to use.

So, Did it Work? I like the Taurus. The color was a huge draw, and I like the stylized design of this. It’s a bit on the thin side for me, but it’s easy and comfortable to use. While the low vibrations don’t do much for me, on high they are strong enough to feel sumptuous inside. I like the blunt nose on this bull as well. It’s firm with just a bit of squish, and it feels good pressing on my clit with the vibrations on high. They’re enough to get me to orgasm, although they don’t get me there as fast as other toys.

The dial base on the Taurus is my least favorite part. It’s not that this vibrator only has steady vibrations - I don’t mind toys that only have steady because that’s often what I use them on. The dial is just a bit too easy to turn. Even when grasping this on the side, my hand will move against it and change the strength of the vibrations. A bit harder to twist would make this quite a bit better. My husband had some trouble with this as well, as he had this idea to twist the Taurus, and his hand kept turning them down.

Since the silicone isn’t slick, the Taurus will mount in the Liberator Wing (the best invention since sliced bread) and not slip too far down into the pocket to use it hands free.

Overall, the Taurus is a fun vibe, with moderate vibrations and a great look. It’s one you’ll enjoy if you like medium sized vibrators and steady vibrations.

Will You Seduce Me?

You can never have too many anal toys. At least that’s the philosophy I subscribe to. Whether they’re probes or plugs, beads or dildos, it’s always good to have a variety. After all, variety is the spice of my sex life. I saw the Don Juan Silicone Anal Toy offered for review from Good Vibrations, and it looked interesting, so I decided to give it a try.
The Don Juan comes in an easy to open clamshell case, with the toy visible through the front. The insert contains product information which can be read from the back.

This is a fun looking plug. It’s about 4” tall, and consists of 3 thin eggs each about 1” wide, that are joined in a gentle curve at the ends and to the base. No seams are visible. The matte black color is nice, and the silicone surface has a bit of drag to it. The base is soft and flexible, longer than it is wide, and it makes the Don Juan comfortable to seat firmly when it’s fully inserted.

Inserting the Don Juan is easy, since it isn’t very large. The rounded tip and narrow diameter make it simple to push in, and the silicone isn’t so soft that it won’t go in. If necessary, a break can be taken between inserting each bead. Once it’s all the way in, the Don Juan is pretty comfortable.

Since this doesn’t have much of a neck, it won’t stay in place easily if you move around or aren’t sitting on it. If you’re wearing it with underwear or pants, they will keep it held in, but it won’t stay seated and will come out if you’re using this during naked play.

Since it’s silicone, the Don Juan is odorless, phthalates-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and easy to clean. It should be washed both before and after use with soap and water and patted dry. It can also be boiled or washed in the dishwasher on the top rack. The box it comes in isn’t the best for storing, but you can stand it upright on a shelf or keep it in a toy bag.

So, Did It Work? I liked the Don Juan. While it’s small in size, the beads are fun to insert, and it was very comfortable to wear. While I would have preferred wearing this without something holding it in, a pair of underwear did the trick just fine. It also worked well as a warm-up for larger anal toys.

Thank you to Good Vibrations for sending this to me for free to review! If you’d like to have some fun with Don Juan yourself, you can purchase yours at Good Vibrations by clicking on the widget below.

Use It At Your Leisure

I love Tantus products. The soft silicone and pleasant shapes and colors of their sex toys are wonderful. I particularly love their anal toys, so I was excited to get the Leisure from Vibrator.com for review.

The Tantus Leisure comes in a see-through box with red and grey accents, with the Leisure and it’s accompanying bullet displayed through the front. Product information is on the back and sides of the box.
This toy is one of many Tantus green sex toys, meaning it’s eco-friendly, non-toxic and body safe, with no phthalates or PVC. It’s made of silicone, and is also hypoallergenic and completely odorless. It’s easy to clean with soap and water, and it can also be boiled, bleached, or run through the dishwasher. Since it’s silicone, only water-based lubricants are safe to use.

The Leisure comes in copper, purple, and white. I chose the copper, which I find to be an unusual color for a sex toy. It’s the color of a shiny penny, and it shimmers in the light. It’s simply gorgeous. This toy is wonderfully soft, just a bit squishy, and super flexible, so it’s comfortable no matter where you choose to insert it. It’s not tacky, but the surface has a bit of drag to it.

This toy is a pleasant 8” long (measured along the curve), with 7 1/4” insertable. It has a gently tapered tip and a diameter of 1 1/4". The base is about 2 1/4" in diameter, and large enough to use the Leisure successfully in a harness or slip it into the dildo holder in the Liberator Wing. Without the bullet, you can also use the Leisure with the Tantus Suction Cup, attaching it to your bathroom wall for hands-free play.

The Tantus Leisure comes with a small silver bullet vibrator, which takes 3 LR44 watch batteries (batteries are included). The bullet is removable, and it’s easy to push into the Leisure’s base as well as take it out, and sticks out about 1/2" from the bottom when fully inserted. It has an O-ring at the bottom of the threads to make it safe for use in the shower or bath.

The bullet has only one speed, and can be turned on and off by pressing the button on the bottom. The vibrations are high speed and buzzy, and transmit throughout the Leisure, although they are strongest at the base. You can replace this bullet with a stronger one if you choose (5/8” in diameter), or use the Leisure without it.

So, Does It Work? Simply put, yes! While the Leisure can be used for vaginal stimulation, I used it almost exclusively for anal play. It’s softness and flexibility make it easy to insert, and the base is a good size for using in the Liberator Wing. It’s large enough to stay in place when inserted between the cover and the foam insert, and with the bullet extending down a bit into the pocket, there’s no worries about turning the vibrations on and off.
While I don’t think the vibrations are overly strong, I was able to feel them, and they were pleasant. The Leisure reminds me a lot of the Smooth Operator from Vixen Creations, both in size and material, but I like the base a lot better on the Leisure.

While we don’t have a standard harness, we do have a hand harness, and the Leisure fit in this well, although my husband had some trouble with the bullet bottom hitting his palm. We found it worked better without the bullet when used this way.

The Leisure also worked well when attached to the wall. Although it doesn’t vibrate this way, it’s still great to attach and move against.

If you’re looking for a thinner vaginal vibrator/dildo, or want a soft, flexible, and comfortable anal toy, the Leisure is a great choice. You’ll enjoy it for a long time to cum!

Hot Blood for Cold Nights

I’m a sucker for vampires. Since I first saw Bela Lugosi as Dracula, I was smitten with the good looks, suave demeanor, and outright sex appeal the vampire had in film. Sure, there were vampires that weren’t so alluring, like Count Orloff in Nosferatu, but Christopher Lee knocking on my window late at night? I’d let him bite my neck. Introduce me to the vampire twins from Vampire Circus? That’d be some wanton orgy of sex and blood. These vampires practically had sex appeal dripping from their pores.

For me, vampires and sex go together like coffee and cream, a warm wet tongue and a clitoral orgasm, a good g-spot toy and squirting– you get the idea. Since it’s October and Halloween is just around the corner, I was salivating for a few good vampire stories to read, so I was excited to pick The Sweetest Kiss – Ravishing Vampire Erotica for my Sexis Naked Reader Book Club selection this month.
The Sweetest Kiss was published in 2009 by Cleis Press. This is an oversized paperback, with 210 pages featuring 19 stories and a short about the authors section. D. L. King, who edited this collection, publishes and edits a review site called Erotica Revealed and has authored two novels. Her short stories have appeared in many erotica collections. The book is set in easy to read type.

The vampires here, for the most part suck. And bite. And are erotic as hell. They aren’t wimpy, sparkly, or nice: instead they’re strong, sensual, cruel, and hot. These vampires mix bloodletting with orgasms, and pain with pleasure, and the result is often quite arousing. The stories span the times, from the French Revolution to the modern day, and there’s a good mix of both female and male vampires. Most of the sex involves heterosexual couplings.  Some of the stories feature mortals who want to die, while others just want to live. And love forever.

I really enjoyed most of the stories in this collection, although one or two were a bit melancholy like “Devouring Heart” by Andrea Dale. A few of the standouts:

“The Temptation of Mlle. Marielle Doucette” by Anna Black   Set during the French Revolution, Marielle was accused of being a counterrevolutionary. Rescued from prison by the mysterious Armand, she finds herself at the chateau of the monster Chretien Girardin. Marielle had thought prison was the worst that could befall her. Free to leave, however, she finds a reason to stay…

“Kiss and Make Up” by Lisette Ashton  Dracula’s gift is to absorb some aspect of his meal’s personality, and this night he’s feasted on philosophy students. Bob and Drac’s consort Linda have fed their appetite for blood as well, but Bob has another appetite to satiate, and Linda’s quite willing since she’s had a fight with her amour. But how will Dracula react if he finds them coupling in the graveyard?

“Red by Any Other Name” by Kathleen Bradean   A sultry dominatrix meets her vampire in a sex club. She can read his thoughts, and the mantra of the different words for red runs through both their heads. She’s stopped for a particular surprise along the way, but will the scene they enact end the way either expects?

This is quite a good collection if you enjoy reading about vampires and ravishing sex, and great to read in bed before you shut out the lights. And dream.

If you’d like to get your copy of The Sweetest Kiss, you can pick one up at EdenFantasys by clicking the widget below. Read, savor the vampires, and join the Sexis Naked Reader Book Club discussion on the forums at EdenFantasys October 26 with host Kristina Wright.

I’m Your Venus…That You Desire

Is there anything better than clitoral stimulation? While I enjoy vaginal, g-spot, and anal, nothing’s quite like getting off with something, whether it’s a finger or a vibrator, teasing and toying with my clit. And having an orgasm that way is easily the most intense that I have. I love trying out new clitoral vibrators, so I was excited to get the Blue Venus from Good Vibrations to review.
The Blue Venus comes in a shiny cardboard box with an actual size picture of the toy on the front. As a whole, it rather resembles a hooded, faceless, cloaked figure (I know, it’s close to Halloween, and I have ghosts and ghouls on the brain). The sides and back of the box contain information about the product and its features.

This clitoral vibrator is a beautiful robin’s egg blue. It’s made of phthalates-free ABS plastic with a velvet coating, so it’s smooth and soft to the touch with just the slightest bit of drag, yet firm and inflexible. The Blue Venus is 6 1/2" long, so it’s easy to hold on to while stimulating your clit.

The front “face” is an indentation that’s about 7/8” wide and 1 1/2" tall. This side can be used to cup your clit and direct vibrations both on and around it. The back side has a nub that angles out from the top. It’s about 1/2" long, and can be used to pinpoint the vibrations.

The base of the Blue Venus is made of shiny plastic in the same color as the rest of the toy. Turning it 1/4 of the way and lifting it off reveals the battery compartment. The Blue Venus takes 2 AA batteries, which should be inserted + side first. The batteries fit snugly inside the body of this vibrator which keeps them from rattling around and making this toy louder, but they can be tricky to remove.  You'll have to give this a few taps to make them come out.  An O-ring sits at the base of the cap to make the Blue Venus waterproof – just make sure you have the base firmly attached before taking this into the shower or tub.

To turn on the Blue Venus, simply turn the bottom of the base. The vibrations are steady, and range from low to high vibrations. On low, the vibrations are really throbby and quite quiet, while on high they’re a bit buzzier (although still throbby) and substantially louder, so you’ll want to have some background music or sound on to mask the fact that you’re using this. They are strongest in the tip, but can also be felt down through the body and may make your hand a bit numb.

The Blue Venus is easy to clean. It can be washed with antibacterial soap and warm water and patted dry. It can be stored in the box it came in, or a drawstring storage bag. It can also be stored standing upright or lying in a drawer. Since it’s made of plastic, both water-based and silicone lubricants can be used if necessary.

So, Did It Work? I liked the feel of the vibrations on this one. When using the cupped side and pressing down, I could feel the rumbles through my clit and labia. They felt good with the nub as well, and I actually liked using that side better. I found with the nub that a lighter touch was more stimulating and I could really use the nub to tease my clit. In fact, a lighter touch got me to orgasm faster than hard grinding.

This worked well in the bathtub, although it was a bit louder than when I used it on the bed.  I didn't have any problems with water getting into the battery compartment, even after having this submerged for quite a while.

One thing I found was that the Blue Venus gets hot – and I mean uncomfortably hot – when it’s used for more than about 20 minutes on the highest vibration. This isn’t good for long stimulation, so if you want to use this more to warm up or tease yourself, you will need to watch the temperature. If you use a light pressure and focus on climaxing, you’ll finish before this noticeably heats up.

Overall, the Blue Venus is a nice clitoral vibrator, with different sensations depending on the side – cupped or nubbed – that you use for stimulation. It’s strong, waterproof, and fun to use, and will work best if you like using lighter pressure.

Thank you to Good Vibrations for sending this to me for free to review! If you’d like to try the Blue Venus, you can get yours at Good Vibrations by clicking on the button below.

Watch It Squiggle, See Me Wiggle…

If you’ve ever read any of my reviews, you’ll find that while I use thinner toys on occasion I much prefer ones that have a bit of girth. I also typically prefer silicone or other non-porous materials, mostly because of the horrid smell that so many of the rubber ones have. So I was intrigued, but a bit leery, when I received the Sassy Swirl Squiggle to review as part of the Cal Exotics Sexpert program.
The Sassy Swirl Squiggle, which from here on in I’ll just call the Squiggle, comes in an easy to open clamshell case with an insert providing some product details. It looks pretty impressive in the package, and you can tell it’s got a good size.

The Squiggle is made of phthalates-free PVC (with an ABS cap). Normally with PVC toys the smell assaults my nose even before I open the package, but with the Squiggle it’s different. It does have a smell, but it’s very faint. I could smell the slight rubber scent when I put it up under my nose, but a foot or more away and I couldn’t smell it at all. This made me pretty happy! After a few washes and dries the scent remained, but I found it to be light enough to not be bothersome in the least.

The Squiggle is a pretty, translucent purple in color. It’s soft and a bit squishy on the surface but with a firm inner core. It has pretty swirls that run down the body. Through the PVC you can see the white vertebrae of the core through the center of the shaft. These vertebrae are flexible and allow you to bend the shaft at an angle for optimal stimulation. It doesn’t have an extreme bend – I’d say around 45 degrees or so, but it’s enough of a bend to get the head at just the angle you like.

This is a nice sized vibrator. It’s 8 1/2" long, with 6 1/2” insertable. Its 1 3/4" diameter is a pleasant, filling size. The head has a slight curve for g-spot stimulation, and it’s firm enough to me the pressure I need to climax. It’s also waterproof, so it’s safe to take into the shower or bath (although it’s much easier to use in the tub).

The Squiggle takes 3 AAA batteries, which are inserted by twisting off the unusually shaped cap. A battery holder slides out, and the batteries are both easy to insert and remove. You have to be careful how you put this holder back in to the vibrator, however. There are 3 arrows on the holder, which indicate which end must go in first. In addition, the metal on the end must come into contact with the metal that runs inside the compartment. If it doesn’t, the Squiggle won’t turn on. Once you have these correct, you’re ready to play.

The bottom of the cap has an elongated button with two touch points. The one point is indicated by a raised nub: this turns the toy on and also cycles through the functions. Pressing the other end of this button, where it is smooth and flat, will turn the Squiggle off. The bottom around and under the button glows with an orange LED light in tempo to the pattern you have the Squiggle on.

Is it tricky to get the right button pressed during use? At first yes, but after you’ve tried this a few times you’ll be able to easily finger the nubbed button for pattern changes. If your finger is pretty slick with lube, however, it'll be a bit trickier.

One of the coolest things about the Squiggle is that it has a memory chip (which I’ve only seen on a few toys, but I love, love, love it!), so it turns back on at the last setting you had. This is a great feature, and allows you to keep the Squiggle on your preferred setting every time.

The Squiggle has 10 patterns, which are:
- super fast pulses followed by a longer fast pulse
- fast pulses
- stronger fast pulses
- very fast pulses
- lower pulses
- longer pulses
- low fast pulses
- steady high
- steady med
- steady low

The vibrations are concentrated in the tip of the Squiggle, but they can be felt about halfway down the shaft. They are fairly throbby and strong, and also pretty quiet. The Squiggle won’t be heard under the covers or behind a closed door.

The Squiggle is easy to clean both before and after use with warm water and antibacterial soap. It can be patted dry and stored away in either it’s packaging or a simple storage bag. Since it’s PVC, both water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use.

So, Did It Work? I really like this vibrator. The size and texture are great, and I love the overall design. I was originally skeptical of it being made of PVC, but it’s both phthalates free and virtually odorless which are big pluses to me.  I also love the flexible neck. It allows me to bend this and get the head and tip angled just right for the g-spot orgasms I’m cumming to love more and more.

The vibrations are pretty strong and throbby, and they can be felt nicely inside. They really feel good in the tip, and are strong enough to allow me to orgasm. I love, love love (can I say that enough times?) the memory feature. I tend to be a mostly one or two pattern girl, and I hate having toys with a lot of functions where I have to cycle forever to get to the one I want. With the Squiggle, I don’t have to do this – I can just turn it off when I’m done and turn it on next time right at the pattern I want.

One thing I would have liked is a way to cycle back and forth through the patterns. Especially with 10 of them, that’s a lot to go through to get back to the one you want if you're playing around and trying other patterns.

Overall, the Sassy Swirl Squiggle (try saying that 10 times fast) is a good vibrator. It has the size, the length, the bending, the strength, the patterns, and the memory feature to make picking this one up a good choice. It’s one that I’m glad to add to my collection!

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me for free to review!  If you'd like to try the Sassy Swirl Squiggle for yourself, you can pick this one up at EdenFantasys when it becomes available by clicking the widget below.
