Pull Out the Lava Lamps and Groove!

Sometimes a product gets your attention from its name before you ever get a good look at it, while other times it’s the shape, color or design that catches your eye. What first attracted me to this bullet was the name – Glo-Glo A Go-Go. Groovy! What could be better than a product that brings to mind black lights, dancing, and wild grooving combined with glowing nuclear emissions? It’s cute, and catchy, and ultimately I decided I had to review this one.
The Glo-Glo A Go-Go Nuclear Lime Flicker Tip Vibrating Bullet from Topco Sales comes packaged in a clamshell case that’s easy to open and displays the product through the front and back. The insert is black with a green design, and really sets off the green bullet within.

Did I say green? It really is lime. Fluorescent lime that practically glows in the packaging and suggests romping with this toy under the black lights with some Hendrix in the background or getting it on beneath a nuclear reactor. It really is the most wonderful color: fun and funky.

The Nuclear Lime is a corded bullet. The bullet itself is nicely sized at about 2 1/2" long and 1” wide. Covering the bullet is a luminous TPR sleeve, which is phthalates-free, latex free, and hypoallergenic. The sleeve is squishy and soft and has a small flicker tip about 1/2" long that extends from its tip. It’s all one piece: there’s no seam to mar the surface. It will take impressions easily, so if you make an indent with your fingernail it’ll hang around for a while before disappearing.

The surface is a bit tacky and picks up hair and other materials with ease, so its best to wash this one both before and after use. The sleeve (which is not removable) wraps around the bullet and extends a bit onto the 30” cord. The sleeve has a very slight odor, but it’s barely noticeable.

The controller for the Nuclear Lime bullet is made of hard plastic in the same fabulous glowing color. It’s a simple controller and operated by a slide button on the front. Above the slider is an LED light that glows red, its intensity increasing relative to the speed you put the bullet on. When this is on high, the light is almost blinding with its brightness.
The back of the controller has a slide-off panel to insert 2 AA batteries. The direction is clearly labeled and the panel easy to remove and replace (but not so easy that you’ll pop it off by accident during use).

The Nuclear Lime bullet is variable speed and offers steady vibrations that go from gentle to quite strong. The vibrations are primarily surface vibrations and buzzy instead of throbbing and are distributed evenly throughout the bullet. While quiet on lower speeds, the bullet is loud on high, and will definitely require some background music (Pink Floyd or the Beatles is optimal) to cover the sound it makes.

The flicker tip is fun to watch in action. It goes crazy with movement as the vibration level is increased. In use it works better on the higher speeds. When on a low vibration the tip stops easily, while on higher you can use it for pinpoint stimulation of the clitoris for a fun flickering feeling unless you press on it too hard.

The unique feature about this bullet is that it glows in the dark. Seriously. Could it be any cooler?  If you hold the bullet near a light source, or place it on a table under a 60 watt or so table lamp for a few minutes, when you shut out the light it has a somewhat eerie green glow. The longer you leave it under the light, the brighter it will glow when you’re in the dark. The glow doesn’t last an amazingly long time, but it lasts long enough to have some giggles before getting down to business. If the glow fades, you can put the bullet back under a light source to recharge it.

The bullet is easy to clean, but care should be taken not to submerge it or get water in the controller. It can be washed with antibacterial soap and water and air dried (if you use a towel, you’ll likely leave lint). Its packaging isn’t ideal for storage, but a simple bag or box will do just fine. The batteries should be removed when not in use.

So, Did It Work? The Nuclear Lime bullet is a fun little toy. The vibrations are strong enough to be effective for me, and the little flicker tip was fun for teasing. It’s a good size to nestle over your clitoris, although it’s a bit large to work effectively inside a pair of underwear. The cord is long enough to keep the controller out of the way, and the batteries lasted a decent amount of time.

My husband got a kick out of priming this under the lamp and then plunging the room into darkness, where the bullet glowed and floated in my hand. It reminded him of the scene in Skin Deep with the battle of the glowing condoms with this glowing green orb making its way around the room. By the time the glow ended, we weren’t inclined to turn on a light and power it up again.

Glowing in the dark really is a novelty feature, but it’s groovy, man! You want to pull out your lava lamps crank some psychedelic music, and have some fun.

Y A USB-Bullet? Because Surfing’s More Fun, That’s Y!

I don’t watch a ton of porn on my computer. Well, not a ton, but an awful lot. And it’s always easier to navigate and type with both hands . So what better to go along with internet porn than a bullet to use while surfing? It sounded interesting to me, so I was happy to receive the Y-bullet from Vibrator.com to review.
The Y-Bullet by Lady Calston comes in a pink and white box, with the product visible through the front. The back has some product information, as well as some suggestions for how to use the bullet. It also proclaims “7 ft cord!” Since the Y-Bullet is powered solely by USB (a fairly new feature that I adore for eggs and bullets, as well as other sex toys), I thought a 7 foot cord would be awesome. Not only would that give me extra maneuverability when on the computer, but also from an outlet (more on that later).

The bullet is matte black, and soft and smooth to the touch. It’s made of plastic, which is non-porous and phthalates free. It’s nicely sized at 2 1/4" long and 1” in diameter. The Y-Bullet does have a noticeable seam running around the middle that can be felt with your fingers, but it isn’t very noticeable during use.

The Y-Bullet isn’t waterproof (and you shouldn’t be taking your laptop into the tub with sex toys anyhow!), so a bit of care is needed when cleaning. It’s easy to clean with soap and warm water (just don’t submerge it) or you can use your favorite toy cleaner. The cord and dial should be wiped with a damp cloth if necessary. Never get water into the USB end – if you do, make sure it’s completely dry before plugging it in.

The cord startled me. I was expecting to see 84” of wire, but the bundled cord looked much too small. And it was. I don’t know who measured this, but the cord is only 39” in length, less than 1/2 of what the box advertises. A big deal? Not really, if you’re at the computer or have a lowered USB hub to plug this into. Planning to plug into the wall? Yeah, not so good.  (The newer version of the Y-Bullet comes with a longer cord which is 7 feet long - good news!)

Since this is USB powered, it must be plugged in to work. While it’s meant to plug into a computer port (and it’s both Mac and PC compatible), the Y-Bullet can also be plugged into a USB adapter and plugged into the wall. Since the cord length is so short, if you really plan to do this, you might want to get a USB extension cord. I’ve decided to only use this bullet to enhance my surfing, so the cord will do just fine.

About midway down the cord is the speed dial. Once the Y-Bullet is plugged in, the dial can be spun with your thumb to select the vibration. This bullet only has steady vibration, but the intensity can be dialed from low (and very quiet) to surprisingly high and strong (and loud to boot). The vibrations are mostly surface vibrations and fairly buzzy.

So, Does it Work? Actually, yes! While the cord length didn’t make me happy, actually using the Y-Bullet did. I liked the size of the bullet, and didn’t notice the seam surfing use. The cord was long enough to plug this into my laptop and place the bullet on my clit, so I could surf away. The bullet is surprisingly strong on high and did manage to get me to orgasm fairly quickly, but it’s much more fun to use on a middle setting to enhance surfing. Since it’s powered by USB, you don’t have to worry about the bullet losing any power no matter how long you go. On high speed this bullet was loud, but on a medium speed it wasn’t noticeable over either the volume of the laptop or background TV.

While the bullet itself doesn’t get too hot, the control did get quite warm when the bullet was used for extended periods (30+ minutes). It didn’t seem to affect the speed or operation of the bullet, and cooled quickly when unplugged.

One other strange thing I noticed was when turning the bullet off, whether it had been on a short time or a long time, the vibrations took a bit to die. They were exceedingly low at that time, and did eventually stop, but not as quickly as I thought they would.

Despite the short cord length, the Y-Bullet is a great little vibrator, and sure to enhance your surfing experience. Thank you to Vibrator.com for sending this to me for free to review! What About Bob?

I’ve tried a lot of Lelo products, with mixed results. I moan for Mona, but Ina exasperates me. Mia is the cat’s meow, while Gigi is moderately enjoyable. Billy is the bomb. But, what about Bob? Here was a plug that looked simple yet intriguing, and I was thrilled when Babeland.com sent this to me for review.

Bob arrives in the standard Lelo packaging. The outer box is black, and imprinted with Lelo Homme on the front. The sides and back give some information about the product. Inside is the black Lelo box which contains Bob, a white satin storage pouch, an instruction manual and small pamphlets about Lelo’s 1 year and 10 year guarantees.
So, what about Bob? I requested Bob in navy, and he’s a beautiful deep matte blue, soft and smooth to the touch with very little drag. Bob is small, just 5” long overall, gently curved, with an insertable length of 3 1/2". He is just 1” in diameter at his widest point. His tip is gently pointed, and after ballooning to this maximum at about 1 3/4" down his body, Bob narrows into just 3/8” on his neck. Bob is firm, but his neck is very flexible.
Below the neck, Bob sports a ring about 1 1/4" in diameter. The ring is almost 1” wide inside, and large enough to slip a finger through to control Bob and also allow for easy insertion and removal.

Bob is designed to be a prostate massager, but he works just fine if you don’t have a prostate. He’s easy to insert and feels filling, even with his small diameter. He stays in place and doesn’t slip out due to the narrowness of his neck, and his base (handle) fits comfortably between butt cheeks and makes him suitable to wear for extended periods of time, whether in or out of the house.

Bob is made of silicone, so he’s scentless, phthalates free and nonporous. He’s easy to clean with warm water and antibacterial soap, and he can also be boiled on the stove or run through the dishwasher on the top rack to sanitize him. Since Bob is silicone, only water-based lubricants are safe to use. He can be stored in his storage bag or in the box he comes in.

So, did Bob work?
I am so glad I got Bob, and wish I would have found him sooner! I love his size – he’s easy to insert and a great way to prep for something larger. His handle makes him comfortable to wear for extended periods, and he’s not noticeable under tight pants. The way his neck narrows also keeps him from falling out when I wear him out under a skirt.

I love Bob’s handle ring. It helps some in insertion, but makes him a lot easier to remove than grasping a flat base. It’s also useful for my husband, who can slip a finger through and gently tug on Bob, which feels oh so good.

Bob is a wonderful plug, and a great one to consider if you’re looking for a small, yet effective, and comfortable anal toy. Thank you to Babeland.com for sending him to me for free to review! If you’d like to experience Bob for yourself, you can buy him at Babeland.com . You won’t regret it!

Flirt With Me

G-spot vibrators? Can be a lot of fun. Most of my favorite vibrators, although not all, are great for g-spot stimulation. Waterproof g-spot vibrators? Even better. So I was happy to get the Flirty G vibrator from Good Vibrations to review, to see if this would be a good addition to my collection.
The Flirty G comes in simple packaging. The plastic bag can be resealed for storage, and protects the toy while not in use.

The color of this toy is gorgeous. Blue is one of my favorite toy colors, and the Flirty G is a vibrant, deep turquoise (darker than in these pictures). It’s made of TPR and has no scent right out of the packaging. The surface is somewhat sticky and will pick up lint and hair like a magnet, so you’ll want to wash this one both before and after use. It can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap, or you can use a toy cleaner. Water-based lubricants are safe to use.

The toy is actually a “sleeve”, about 5 1/2" long, that fits over a vibrator (the Flirty G is 7 1/2” long altogether). The top, which is about 3 1/2" long is soft and squishy, and incredibly flexible. The bottom 2” of the sleeve fit tightly over the plastic vibrator underneath. This top part can be removed by rolling the sleeve upwards and gently pulling the vibrator out. It’s just as easy to put back on the vibrator, so you can use this with or without the sleeve, and you can also remove the sleeve for easier cleaning. Just make sure that the inside of the sleeve is dry before putting it back on the vibrator.
The insertable portion has a flat head about 1 1/2" long and 1” wide, meant to stimulate the g-spot. It sits atop a thin, flexible neck before attaching to the clitoral scoop, which is covered with tiny, flexible nubs.

The base is separated by a silver band and is plastic in the same lovely blue as the sleeve. Turning the base 1/4 of a turn counterclockwise reveals the battery compartment which holds 2 AAA batteries. The direction is clearly labeled. An O-ring sits under the threads to ensure water doesn’t get in when using this in the shower or bath.

On the bottom of the base is a white button which turns the Flirty G on and allows you to cycle through 9 functions:

- low steady vibration
- medium steady vibration
- high steady vibration
- 4 pulses, pause, repeat
- 2 long and a really long pulse, pause, repeat
- 3 short and 1 long pulse, repeats
- long pulses
- 5 short and one medium pulse, repeats
- 5 pulses, with the last two slightly longer than the first 3, repeats
- off

The Flirty G is fairly quiet, although a bit louder in the water. It probably won’t be heard if you’ve got some background ambience going on. The vibrations are moderate and are strongest in the clitoral scoop, although they can be felt through the entire toy.

So, Did It Work? I like the idea of this vibrator, but the sleeve didn’t work well for me. The tip and the shaft of the insertable portion were too flexible, and didn’t allow me to get the pressure on my g-spot that I need. The scoop was nice and I did like the nubs, but it could have been a bit longer for ideal stimulation. I also wish this had a dedicated off button. There are a lot of patterns to cycle through to turn this off in a hurry!

I do like that the sleeve is removable, and the vibrator alone was good during foreplay for clitoral stimulation. While it wasn’t strong enough for me to orgasm, it was strong enough to turn me on.

You’ll like the Flirty G if you don’t need very firm pressure on your g-spot, and prefer moderate vibratons.

Thank you to Good Vibrations for sending the Flirty G to me for free to review! If you’d like to purchase one of your own, you can pick one up at GoodVibes.com .

Giant Crayons Can Be Fun!

I love anal play. And while I don’t have too much trouble going up 1/4” to a 1 1/2” diameter with a plug, sometimes this is too much when I want to use a dildo. The in between size can be hard to track down. I had a toy ages ago that was the perfect size, but I hated the jelly material. So I was excited when I found the Platinum Silicone Tool at EdenFantasys – the toy I used to have, but new and improved!
The Tool comes in a blue and black box with the toy visible through the front window. The back of the box has some product information, and warranty info and product registration can be done on the Doc Johnson site.

The dildo itself is a beautiful shade of cornflower blue (like the crayon)– soft and shimmery and a bit sparkly. In fact it even resembles a giant crayon without its label. The surface is matte with a bit of drag to the touch, and completely seamless.

Firm enough for insertion, the Tool is also flexible enough to be bent in half and is squishy but not tacky to the touch. It’s a bit too flexible for hard thrusting but it works well for more gentle action.

The Tool is 7” long, with 6” being insertable. The tip of the Tool is blunt and only 5/8” wide. It tapers out to the maximum shaft width of 1 3/8”. The base widens in 2 stages, up to a maximum of 2” diameter across the bottom of the toy. It’s suitable for both vaginal and anal play, but if you plan to use it both ways a condom should be used.

Made of silicone, the Tool has no scent, and it’s non-porous, latex-free and hypoallergenic. The surface does tend to pick up lint, stray hair, and other materials easily, so it should be cleaned both before and after use with antibacterial soap and warm water. You can also run this through the dishwasher on the top rack or boil it on the stove to sanitize it. Only water-based lubricants are safe to use.

So, Did It Work? I really like the Tool for an anal dildo. It allows me to go up in size more gradually during anal play and is much more comfortable than going straight from 1 1/4" to 1 1/2". The tip is easy to insert, and I love the flexibility and overall squishiness of this toy. While I wish it was just a bit firmer, it’s firm enough to gently thrust with, and it’s a good warm-up to a larger size.

My partner liked the size of the base on the Tool, and he found it easy to hold on to while using this on me. We also thought this might be a good toy to use in the Liberator Wing. It didn’t work too well when trying to slide it between the cover and the Wing body, but it was flexible enough to set on top of the Wing and use for double penetration.

The Tool is a great tool for anal play, and reasonably priced. I got mine at EdenFantasys, and you’d like to try it out, you can purchase your Tool from them by clicking the widget below.

I"ll be the first to admit, these are not the sexiest pair of shoes I own.  Not by far.  But, they are super comfortable, I love the color, and I love the wedge.  And only a few more weeks to wear them before cold weather hits!

Room Service

I’ve been reading a lot of erotica lately. What, lately you ask? It’s true – I hadn’t read a lot of it before becoming a part of the Sexis Naked Reader Book Club. Since I’ve joined, I’ve received several themed erotica anthologies to read and get excited over. The book I picked to read for August, Do Not Disturb, is filled with stories about having sex in one of the most exciting places you can – and one of the most exciting places I have - the hotel.
Do Not Disturb (Hotel Sex Stories) was published in 2009 by Cleis Press. It’s an over-sized paperback with 20 stories and is 214 pages long. The type is easy to read, and short author biographies are included at the end. The book has a blog where author news, reader stories, and hotel sex are the topic of the day.

This collection is edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, a writer whose own works appear in numerous erotica anthologies including this one. Rachel has also written for Bust, AVN, the Huffington Post, Playgirl, Penthouse, and the New York Post, among others. She has also appeared on television, on shows as diverse as “Family Business” and “The Martha Stewart Show.”

In her introduction, Rachel talks about how hotels can be very erotic settings for sex, whether it’s an upscale, 5 star hotel or a rent-by-the-hour dive. Hotels can be used to fulfill many different sexual needs, including secrecy, flirting, affairs, and fantasies. She ends the introduction by relating some memorable moments she has had in hotels herself.

Most of the stories in this anthology feature heterosexual couples, although there are a few stories with same sex couples. This collection also has some three-way action between two men and a woman, two women and a man, and three men. The stories cover lunchtime dalliances, cheating spouses, chance and planned encounters and even hired pleasure.

All of the stories in this collection are well written. While I enjoyed almost all of them, some of the stories didn’t get me going at all or just seemed misplaced in an erotica collection.  Three stories in particular stood out in this category.

“The St. George Hotel, 1890” by Lillian Slugocki  I really liked this story of a woman reminiscing about having a tryst with a disturbing stranger, but it was more of a thriller with elements of sex set in days gone by than an erotic and arousing read.

“G is For Gypsy” by Maxim Jakubowski  This told the melancholy story of a traveling man who pines for a lost love and reminisces about what he no longer has before becoming a lost soul in room after room. I found this story a bit depressing and sad.

“Talking Dirty” by Shanna Germaine  Something’s happened to his wife, and a loving husband tries to break through by recreating a hotel scene with her week after week. This story I also found sad, and while I felt for the characters and the love of the husband, it seemed a bit out of place.

Many of the stories I did find highly erotic. Some really tapped into my fantasies and gave me ideas for future roleplay, while others were just plain arousing to read. My favorite stories in this collection were:

“So Simple A Place” by Isabelle Gray A business woman in Tokyo for 6 months has a flirtation with her Japanese counterpart that builds to something special in a place where they can be anywhere in the world.

“Tropical Grotto, Winter Storm” by Teresa Noele Roberts  A couple finds themselves unexpectedly snowbound at a hotel that features an indoor tropical water park. What to do?

“Hump Day” by Rachel Kramer Bussel  A married couple spends an hour every Wednesday at a seedy hotel for a raunchy, role-playing date.

The best story in this collection for me by far was “The Royalton – A Daray Tale” by Tess Danesi. Here, a woman follows her lover’s instructions, starting in the lobby of the Royalton Hotel. She finds herself living out one of her greatest fantasies in the room, but being blindfolded throughout keeps her guessing about the identity of the third person in the room.

Overall, Do Not Disturb is a book I would recommend if you’ve ever had great hotel sex or fantasized about doing so. You can pick up your copy at EdenFantasys by clicking on the widget below, read it, and join the discussion for this Sexis Naked Reader Book Club selection on the forum later this month.
